Gay Men – Why to Go for a HPV/Genital Warts Test

We are not yet fully aware to different types of men’s cancer like anal cancer and other similar cancers that can happen due to an HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) infection. Any men can get affected by these types of cancer but Gay and bisexual men are at more risk.

Many of men do not know that HPV is the most sexually transmitted disease. Also detecting HPV at an early stage is very difficult and hence men do not know until they have greater problems. There are around 40 HPV types of viruses that can affect men and women’s genital areas and result in genital warts.

HPV is so easily transmitted that more than 90 percent or so people are infected by it. But very few percentages of those will have problems of genital warts or warts on penis or anus or warts in throat. For rest of the people their immune system is sufficient to fight HPV.

As there are a large percentage of people affected by HPV it is advised that gay men who sleep with their partners should go for a HPV/Genital warts test as a precaution to check if they are infected by disease.

HPV is more of transmitted to skin so Gay men slipping with their partners are more at risk of getting into bigger troubles and hence they are advised to go for genital warts test. Feigwarzen as they call it in German looks very ugly and often lead to greater pain. Many a times huge lumps are formed around private parts and immediate medical attention is required.

To avoid pain and medication its recommended that you go for a genital warts/HPV test and be sure about your health.
